This is a mixture of a seax, a bowie, and a baltic warknife with a little Celtic design sprinkled on top. The blade is 16", 21" overall.
What is the handle made from? How deep is the tang?
The handle is black cherry from a tree I cut a few years back. The tang is nice & thick and goes all the way thru. You can just make out the peened-over end of it at the back of the handle in this pic
how much would you charge for that knife? cause i want it!
Now that is a scabbard one could be proud of. an impressive knife if I've ever seen one.
Thanks guys. It is sturdy - the blade is 1/4" thick 1075 carbon steel. It has a slight bit if differential hardening - the center of the blade where the black clouds are is not fully hard so it has a greater ability to absorb shock.
Wow, this is gorgeous, with some sweet designs. Looks tough and sturdy but fit for any lord at the same time!
This is amazing and gorgeous
I would love to have that!!
Wow this is actually the most beautiful thing I've seen today
hmm. Sell it for 50 bucks?
A handmade blade with this level of detail? $150 would probably be closer to the price. At least $80 or $90 I would say.
Don't sell yourself short, with the sheath and carving details on the handle, not to mention the flawless finish, this knife is in the 300-450 range.
O-O Well that gonna be another 5 months. I only get 20 bucks every month. I would just rather buy one for 20 from my gas station.
