Description

A Dark Ages broken back seax with a Celtic/Anglosaxon/Viking mash-up decoration theme.  I think it qualifies as a short sword:  Blade is 19 1/4" long, 28" overall length.  The blade is 1075 carbon steel about 6mm thick at the break.  I've inlaid runes in Nu Gold  on both sides in broken old english that hopefully translate to "My Name is Blodlaetere.  I burst asunder mail.  I rend flesh. MHB made me."  Handle is carved black walnut.  Fittings are all hand cast in bronze from originals I carved (both blade & sheath).
